Warm greetings from Disha foundation,New Delhi, India
 
This letter comes to thank you on behalf of the 20 women who have finished their training successfully at our Jammu tailoring center. These women come from poor families and are mostly illetrate. Their husbands are either truck drivers or labourers and  mostly live in huts.

Most of the time, these women only do the household work and are totally dependant on their husbands for money. As Disha foundation is engaged in  encouraging and empowering women, we have spoken to their families and encouraged them to come daily for 3 hours to learn sewing and training . Six months later, these women were ready and received their certificates  which will help them get jobs. Disha foundation is the only organisation that gives them certificates  after finishing their course.Also, now, with the help of the money you sent to us, we have provided them with more machines and also taken a room on rent where a boutique is running alongwith the third batch of training.

These women  are now running the boutique by tailoring clothes and also teaching the new girls how to stitch. The work is slow but growing . WE ARE VERY THANKFUL  FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION and look forward to your on going support so we can help the poor women to become financially independent.

We are looking for 1000 euros to grow the work in Jammu and in New Delhi.
